Washington Access Fund is now accepting applications for our 2016-2017 AmeriCorps position: Financial Sustainability Project Coordinator.
This is a unique opportunity for cutting edge work with a small nonprofit staff dedicated to helping people with disabilities purchase assistive technology and achieve independence.

April 15th is less than a month away, have you filed your taxes yet?
Don’t worry, there’s still time and lots of free resources to help. However, we recommend you don’t wait until the last minute.
The United Way is offering a Free Tax Campaign from now until April 21, 2016 for households earning $62,000 or less. In King County alone, you can stop in to any of 24 locations with daytime, evening, and weekend hours for assistance in many languages provided by IRS certified volunteers. No appointments needed and no fees.

Washington Access Fund is excited to announce that we’ve expanded our low-interest Assistive Technology Loan Program. Now, residents of Washington and Oregon State are eligible to apply!
What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive Technology is described as any device that helps to improve the functioning of a person with a disability or age-related limitations.
- Examples include:
- Hearing Aids
- Low Vision Aids
- Home Modification
- Vehicle Modifications
- Computers, Tablets and Smartphones
- Sports and Recreational Equipment
What are the loan terms?
The interest rate is 5.0% fixed interest rate with no fees. Loan terms range from 1 to 5 years with a maximum loan size of $10,000 to Oregon residents.
Who is eligible to apply?
Washington and Oregon residents of all ages with disabilities of all types including seniors with age-related functional limitations. Family members are also eligible.
Are there income restrictions?
No income restrictions, but applicants must be able to pay back the loan. We consider all sources of income including disability payments. Lack of credit history is not a disqualifier. Each loan is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
